Obanales is the home-brewing brand of OBAN ALES LIMITED, a Scottish brewery founded in 2009 under company number SC355617, registered at 9 Mamore Road, PH50 4QP, Scotland, United Kingdom.
We do not sell beer, cider or any alcoholic beverage on this site. Everything we ship is equipment, dried malt, hop pellets, brewing yeast, or sanitation supplies. The ferment that produces a finished drink happens in your kitchen, under your country's private-brewing rules.
Our edge is the calibration. After seventeen years running a working brewery, we know which yeast strains forgive a first-time brewer, which hop pellet weights matter, and which sanitation step is the one most kits skip and most beginners regret.
Every Field Guide PDF is reviewed by a brewer. Every kit is portioned for a single five-litre batch. Every page of this website is written under the principle: brewing is a slow craft, not a hack.
What we sell, plainly
- Food-grade fermentation vessels (PET, glass, plastic).
- Calibrated instruments: hydrometers, thermometers, airlocks.
- Dried malt extract (DME) and roasted barley grains.
- Pelletised hops in named varieties.
- Dried, sealed brewer's yeast and yeast nutrient.
- Sanitation supplies and brushes.
- Field Guide PDFs explaining how to use the above.
What we do not sell
- Beer, cider, or any other alcoholic beverage.
- Apple juice, malt wort, or any liquid that would itself ferment in transit.
- Glass bottles for finished beer (we encourage re-using empties).
- Recipes using registered beer brand names.
